About Us

Mission

To relieve the needs of survivors by providing safeguarding, advocacy, mentoring, practical assistance, education, information, referrals, and compassionate support that empowers individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, confidence, and lasting freedom.

Vision

To see individuals, families, and communities living free from abuse, exploitation, and violence, where every survivor has access to safety, justice, compassionate support, education, and opportunities to rebuild their lives in a safe, empowering, and Christ-centred environment.

Our Approach

We take a holistic, trauma-informed, and person-centred approach that recognises every survivor’s unique journey. Through mentoring, counselling, advocacy, and spiritual care, we walk alongside survivors as they heal, rebuild confidence, and find lasting freedom.

SDK Foundation (Registered Charity No. 1219379) was founded by Lorenia Alvarenga in 2017 and is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered in England and Wales.
Our charitable objects are to relieve the needs of survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, honour-based abuse, forced marriage, and other forms of violence against women and girls by providing compassionate, practical, and trauma-informed support.
We provide advocacy, safeguarding, mentoring, emotional support, practical guidance, information, referrals, education, and awareness programmes that empower survivors to rebuild their lives safely and with dignity. We work collaboratively with local authorities, police, statutory agencies, churches, charities, and community organisations to improve outcomes for survivors and their families.
Alongside direct support, we advance education by increasing public awareness, promoting healthy relationships, preventing abuse, and encouraging trauma-informed practice within communities, churches, and professional organisations.
Everything we do is guided by our Christian values of compassion, dignity, integrity, hope, and service. We believe every person has inherent value and deserves the opportunity to recover, thrive, and live free from abuse.

In addition to our work with survivors of abuse, we offer professional services to support individuals, organizations, and communities. The income from these services supports the ongoing mission of Sons and Daughters of the King.
